Main Window
The interface uses a simple layout: a file system tree on the left and a details pane on the right. An optional bar chart gives a quick overview. Scan results update live as the analysis runs, and Unicode file and folder names are fully supported.
Dark Mode
A dark theme is available for the entire interface. You can tie it to your Windows theme or switch it on and off independently.
Details View
The details pane shows disk usage data such as folder size, space lost to the file system layout, last access date, NTFS compression ratio, and owner. You can sort by any column and add more columns via the context menu.
Treemap Chart
This hierarchical chart shows the size of all subfolders under the selected branch, not only direct children. Tiles can be displayed in 2D or 3D.
Bar Chart
The bar chart gives a fast overview of disk usage. It can be printed or copied to the clipboard, and the toolbar offers display options.
Pie Chart
The pie chart displays each subfolder’s share of the currently selected directory’s space.
File Extensions
Disk space can be broken down by file type. Filtering the tree by extension makes it easy to locate folders that contain many files of a given type.
Users
Used space can be grouped and filtered by user account, so you can quickly see which accounts use the most disk space.
File Age
Files can be sorted by age. You can define intervals for creation date, last modification, and last access.
Top Files
The Top Files pane lists the largest files found in the most recent scan.
Configuration
The options dialog lets you adjust many aspects of TreeSize, including the view, data export, and startup behavior.
Report Comparison
You can save a file system branch to an XML file or capture a snapshot of disk usage at a point in time. Comparing different snapshots helps you track how storage changes over time.
Task Scheduling
In the Professional edition, the Schedule Tasks dialog lets you add custom TreeSize tasks to Windows Task Scheduler. This feature is available in the Professional Edition only.
